What should i do about my wife's problem with video games?

Question: What should i do about my wife's problem with video games?

(Posted by: Beavis on 2010-03-10 19:09:52)

When my wife, and I were dating I told her that i'm a gamer, and she didn't have a problem with it. Now that we are married she always nags me about playing video games and telling me how she doesn't want me to play them. Now I spend more than enough time with her. I usually spend a few hours a night just talking with her. Also when I ask her why me playing games bothers her she just gets upset, and won't talk to me. From the vibes I get from her I think she isn't so much mad about the time I spend on the games, as the money I spend on them. Like I said she won't directly tell me why it bothers her, so I just have to guess why. Does anyone know what I should do about this situation, and why she didn't have a problem when we were dating, but now she does?

This thing happens to me before lol.. now she's ok wit me thought, what you need to do is before u jump into the game make sure u cook dinner or just do some homework 1st likes cook dinner together or clean the house if u have a kids babysit them and ask ur wife to relax and tell ur wife thats its better to play games bcoz ur always by her sight rather then ur socialize outside (meet friends) in a bar or etc. and dont tell ur wife that ur buying a new games just said that ur renting it or borrow from a friends. try to find a gamers that ur wife like to play?for example in the pass my wife also hates me playing my PS3 then when i saw her playing puzzle games in facebook, i bought her G.Hero world tour. now i weekends we enjoys ourself together playing GH. shes playing the guitar while im singing hahaha.. Its usually take times.. hope tis will help ya.

I think you should just try to talk to her about the situation and if she wont talk to you then ask her why. Also you could always try to get her into gaming. And remember: video games will always listen and never ignore you :) but don't take my advice if it will affect your relationship, I don't want a divorce to be my fault ;)

Hmmm....im a girl gamer and my husband and i have been married for 5 years now...we both play video games! :) HOWEVER...do you throw a temper when you play? i know that it pisses me off when my husband gets mad at the game and throws a fit...but he cant leave until he gets the person...and that pisses me off...cause until he does, he's in a hateful mood...do you notice that she gets mad when you play certain types of games? cause that could be a HUGE factor!!! ps3 or xbox? what games DO you play? :D
