Question: What are some of the popular video games about?
(Posted by: michael on 2010-03-10 01:30:48)
I know in GTA you steal cars (and do missions, I figure all games have missions), have seen Far Cry, but what are some of the other games about. What is the big deal about Crysis, while you are at it too, please. I appreciate the summary of GTA IV (I run over phone booths in it mostly) but I really wanted to know about OTHER games. OTHER games. NOT GTA. OTHER. For example: Far Cry 2 (I think): is about a country (or small continent) that is politically unstable and a bit of a free for all. Fall Out 3 (I think 3): is a post apocolyptic world where you have to fend for yourself after something looks like nuclear war. WoW: Wizards and dragons and stuff, but not really animated DND. Power based on spells and other stuff you collect in the game. |

GTA IV does sound like just blood and gore, but actually has quite a good story and some great characters. It's about Niko Bellic, a war veteran from somewhere in Eastern Europe (people say he's from Russia, but as he clearly says 'I'm not from Russia!') comes to America to escape his war filled past, and to start fresh. He moves to the fictional location Liberty City to live with his cousin Roman Bellic. Roman has told him that he lives the high life with money and girls, but in reality he lives in a grotty apartment and has a struggling taxi firm. Soon after Niko arrives, he realises Roman is in money trouble and so fights to protect him from loan sharks who want their money. He soon becomes involved with some dangerous people. First of all is Vlad, who Roman owes money to, and so Niko does jobs for him to pay him off. But Niko soon realises that things are going to be quite that easy. That's the beginning of the story in a nutshell = D GTA IV is also great fun because, as long as you aren't the type of person who is easily offended, you can steal cars, have shootouts with the police, fly helicopters, use a variety of weapons and much more. Also, Ragdoll physics. Ragdoll physics is when a character will realistically fall over or go flying through the air or something. So for instance, if you crash when on a bike, instead of just falling straight off, then getting back up like in old GTA games, you will shoot off the bike and roll along for a bit, just like you would roll along after falling off at high speeds in real life. It's quite humorous sometimes to just drive around on a bike and purposely fall off. Anyway, on to Crysis. The big deal about Crysis isn't with it's story, or characters, or anything like that. It's simply the graphics. Here are some pictures of why the graphics are the best that any games system has seen so far. maxygames.no.sapo.pt/ Crysis.jpg media.giantbomb.com/ uploads/ 0/ 7472/ 192343-farcry2g_super.jpg costiga.net/ wp-content/ 2007/ 08/ crysis_single_b.jpg Also what is quite cool about Crysis is that instead of having levels in the day, and levels at night, the time just goes by on its own, and sometimes level will be easy when all of a sudden the sun goes down, and you have no idea what to do. A lot of games have a day/ night and time system, but not many First Person Shooters do. By the way, Crysis is only on PC, and it requires a very good computer to run it. Anyway, that post went on longer than I expected. But hopefully it helped. I also recommend games such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Bioshock, Killzone 2, Blue Dragon and any Final Fantasy game. |

Guns, guns, blood, explosions, gore, and of course, guns. That's all games ever seem to be about these days. |

Most games have violence in the game. Some have heavier stories in them, e.g. mass effect 2, some have more roleplayng elements to them. You can guarntee ther wll most likely be violence for mainstream games. Crysis is a game all pc users praise. It is recognised as the game with possibly the best graphics. You are in a suit that has abilities like invisibilty and speed. You go through the forest ambushing people and then killing aliens. Some good games include modern warfare 2, heavy rain, god of war 3, mass effect 2, halo 3 odst, halo reach when it comes out, red dead redemption when it comes out, just cause 2 when it comes out |
