Question: New to video game programing, any tips?

I'm a young person, looking into the world of video game programing. I see it a a future career. I already completed the first step of making a game - writing it down. I know somewhere along the line I'll actually have to program it. So, you know any books/ material that will help out? Keep in mind that my knowledge is almost zero. I would also appreciate help with graphic design and music making, but the main topic I want help on at the current moment is video game programing.

The "For Dummies " series of books is really handy. They have them for just about anything including C+ + ! Take a look on Amazon or Ebay, they include everything to get you started and its all written in plain simple english, perfect for the novice programmer! Certainly got me on my way!
