Question: Why video games have greatest hits versions?

I don't know why video games always have greatest hits version of games, it lessen the value of the games. And not just playstation's games, even other consoles have something similar, like xbox (plantium hits) and gamecube (player's choice). Does printing the label green and write red text on it make the game cheaper because they just made it ugly ? why bother the trouble, can't they just continue to make the black label version like the way they used to do it ?

Platinum Hits have sold over a certain number of copies. They redo the packaging and sell them at a lower cost.

The reason why video games have greatest hit versions is because it show that a game is really good but not all geatest hits you are going to like so I would perfer to rent the game then if you like it buy it on your next paycheck
